PostLock sign post anchors are
designed to stop vandals, secure signs, and save you
money!
This product has been used across the
Pacific Northwest since 1988 and is currently installed on thousands
of street and traffic signs. Our primary customers are
city and county sign shops that have the responsibility to
maintain road signs mounted on 4x4 wood posts. When
a sign is pulled from the ground by vandals, the maintenance
crew re-installs the post with an anchor and the problem
is solved... for good. According to our customers,
over time, the incidence of vandalism has dropped dramatically by
the use of our anchors which saves time, money and
hassle.
Potential
applications: Street and traffic signs, real estate
signs, mailboxes, or any other wood post mounted
sign. This anchor provides a low cost and
reliable alternative to replacing wood posts with costly
metal posts, or other expensive anchor
products.
How it works: This
anchor uses firmly packed earth to resist the lifting force of
vandals. To install, the anchor is nailed to the
base of a wood sign post (with nails provided in kit) and
then buried. The product is made with injection
molded polycarbonate for years of reliable service,
and includes a patented breakaway release feature
to ensure easy sign post removal or replacement by maintenance
crews. This product will resist over 500 pounds of
upward force, which should stop most teenage
vandals.
PostLock anchors have an engineered
"breakaway" release feature. To release a buried anchor
from the post, either strike the top of the anchor
sharply with a solid steel bar, or extract the post with a
mechanical sign post puller.
Packaging:
Anchors are delivered in individually packaged kits (see
picture). Each kit includes anchor, galvanized nails and
installation instructions.
The
PostLock sign post puller, makes removal of broken wood sign
posts quick and simple.
This tool easily extracts a 4x4 wood post from the
ground in seconds. What is unique about our product,
is it will also extract a sign post stub, broken
off at GROUND LEVEL. There is no other
product on the market that will stubs as quickly or easily as our
product.
Step 1: Using the steel
bar as a slide hammer, drive the puller down into the ground
along side the post (or stub).
Step 2: Pull on the
bar (to approximately 45 degrees).
Step 3. Strike the puller
(with the steel bar) to drive the two sharp teeth into the wood
post.
Step
4: Push the bar downward to raise and extract the post (or
stub).

heat treated steel, hot dip galvanized, and coated with epoxy
enamel for years of trouble free service.
